Westacre Theatre is thrilled to announce a complete sell-out of all performances of A Christmas Carol – an unprecedented achievement and a powerful show of support from its audiences.

This success comes at a critical moment for the Performing Arts, as funding opportunities are reduced and competition for grants becomes increasingly fierce. For Westacre Theatre, the response has been both humbling and inspiring.

Theatre Director Sadie Grist said: “To see every performance of A Christmas Carol sell out has been incredibly moving. It reminds us just how much this theatre matters to its community – not just as a place to watch performances, but as a place where creativity, confidence and talent are nurtured.”

Sadie continues: “This production shines a spotlight on our young performers, and we’re so proud to provide a space where young people can explore, grow and truly shine. Every ticket sold helps keep those opportunities alive – and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported them and been part of their journey.”

Westacre Theatre is a vital cultural beacon in rural West Norfolk and one of the county’s most cherished spaces for live performance and creative connection. Central to this has been its much-loved outdoor theatre tent, which for five magical summers welcomed audiences to unforgettable performances under the Norfolk skies – from Shakespeare and comedy to music, family shows and youth theatre.
Sadly, the tent has now reached the end of its life. The fabric has been damaged beyond repair and the structure has had to come down. Without it, Westacre’s summer performances, workshops and outdoor events – the very heartbeat of the theatre – are at risk.
In response, the theatre has launched the Westacre Theatre Tent Appeal, a campaign to raise £50,000 to replace the tent and rebuild its outdoor summer home. Replacing the tent is vital not only artistically, but financially, as the outdoor season provides essential income that helps sustain the theatre year-round.

“As a small rural theatre, we have to think creatively to survive,” added Sadie. “Our outdoor stage is essential to securing a sustainable future for Westacre Theatre. Every pole, every peg and every donation helps bring back the magic of summer theatre by our beautiful lakeside setting.”
Looking ahead, Westacre Theatre is also preparing for a sensational Spring 2026 season, promising a brilliant line-up of stories retold, secrets revealed and nostalgia rediscovered. With the theatre’s intimate setting, audiences are encouraged to book early – favourite seats don’t stay free for long in this small but mighty venue.
