Dereham Blues Festival 2025 Set to Launch with a Boogie-Woogie Bang – Join the Warm-up on Dereham Day
The Dereham Blues Festival 2025 is gearing up for another unforgettable summer of rhythm, soul, and blues – and it all kicks off with a warm-up weekend on Dereham Day, Saturday 10 May from 10am to 4pm in the town centre.
Festival-goers will get an early taste of the action, with live blues performances from Norfolk Blues Society musicians, the first look at this year’s official programme, and the chance to meet the vibrant new team behind this growing musical celebration. A free raffle on the day will give one lucky visitor the chance to win two tickets to the Festival’s Opening Concert, where world-renowned boogie-woogie pianist and vocalist Mike Sanchez will raise the roof at Dereham Memorial Hall on Wednesday 9 July.
The fun continues on Saturday 31 May at the Gressenhall Village Fete, where festival volunteers and musicians will once again be out in force, sharing the summer’s plans and keeping spirits high with both acoustic and amplified blues sets.
This year’s Opening Concert promises something truly special. Mike Sanchez, known for his explosive stage presence and energetic piano performances, will be joined by his six-piece band in a rare UK appearance. The evening sets the tone for five days of live music, with over 60 acts playing free gigs in pubs and clubs across the town from 10–13 July.
Now in its twelfth year, Dereham Blues Festival continues to grow in ambition and reach, supported entirely by volunteers and generous local sponsors. For full details of this summer’s programme – or to book tickets for the opening night – visit www.derehambluesfestival.org.uk.
