Adapted Sports Hub Trust Launches Major Inclusive Sports Development at Lynnsport

The Adapted Sports Hub Trust is delighted to announce the launch of an ambitious project to develop a state-of-the-art Adapted Sports Hub at Lynnsport, in collaboration with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Little Discoverers, Little Miracles, and Pelicans Hockey Club.

This pioneering partnership brings together leading local organisations with a shared commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and community wellbeing. The project aims to create a dedicated, fully accessible sports facility that will transform opportunities for people with disabilities and additional needs across West Norfolk.

The Hub will provide specialist equipment, inclusive training spaces, and multi-purpose areas designed to support a wide range of adapted sports and physical activities. The facility will also act as a centre for community engagement, education, and coach development, helping to build a more inclusive sporting culture throughout the region.

By working in partnership, the organisations will combine their expertise in disability support, early years development, and community sport to ensure the hub meets diverse local needs. The project will also strengthen pathways into sport for children, young people, and adults, supporting both participation and long-term development.

Kate Fisher from the Adapted Sports Hub Trust, said:
“This is a landmark moment for inclusive sport in West Norfolk. By bringing together such a strong group of partners, we are creating a facility that will genuinely change lives—breaking down barriers and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to take part in sport and physical activity.”

Cllr Simon Ring, Deputy Leader of the borough council, said: “Supporting this partnership at Lynnsport is something we are genuinely proud of. The Adapted Sports Hub reflects our commitment to strengthening community wellbeing and ensuring that everyone can access high-quality facilities. This project will make a meaningful difference to people’s lives across West Norfolk.”

Representatives from Little Discoverers and Little Miracles highlighted the importance of early access to inclusive activities, while Pelicans Hockey Club emphasised the role the hub will play in expanding inclusive sport pathways and community engagement.

A long-term lease and affordable rent to ensure the longevity of the venture has been agreed. Opportunities for community input and involvement will be a key part of the process, with fundraising work now accelerating to bring the exciting development to fruition.

Once complete, the Adapted Sports Hub will serve as a welcoming, inclusive space for individuals and families, supporting participation, independence, and wellbeing through sport.

The Adapted Sports Hub Trust will be launching the Hub to the public on 11th June at St Nicholas Chapel Kings Lynn from 6pm.
