Hoping for another blooming marvellous result after the judges visit Hunstanton

Anglia in Bloom judges visited Hunstanton last week as part of the annual awards inspections.

Cllr Paul Bland, Cabinet member for car parks and open spaces, explained: “Our public open space teams do an incredible job across the borough and are rightly proud of the work they carry out and the recognition they hope to receive from the Anglia in Bloom awards.

“The Hunstanton team won a trophy last year for best coastal resort and I would be delighted to see them achieve this again.

“As well as the council staff who care passionately about our parks and green spaces so do many volunteers and community groups that make a real difference in west Norfolk and they deserve recognition too. I would like to thank our staff and many others who make west Norfolk such a great place to live.”

Adrian Winnington, Chair of the Hunstanton In Bloom committee, said: “Hunstanton In Bloom is a team of local individuals, businesses, councillors and council officers who work to enhance the environment of our town for residents and our many visitors.  We work closely throughout the year with the borough council grounds team to plan and maintain floral displays with the help of our great team of adopt-a-bedders.  In Bloom is not just about plants, it is also very much about community and so any achievements are down to the efforts of many groups throughout the town.

“We are always very pleased to welcome the judges from Anglia In Bloom to show them the culmination of everyone’s hard work throughout the year. We were very lucky with the weather on our judging day this year as we really could say ‘Welcome to Sunny Hunny’.”
