Frozen youth musical at Sheringham hailed a success

Young performers are taking a bow after their annual Easter musical was a smash hit.

A 30-strong cast aged from eight to 16 staged Frozen Junior at Sheringham Little Theatre in five sell-out shows over Easter.

The specially crafted youth production is a compact version of the classic Disney tale combining magical powers, adventure, romance, sisterly love – and the signature singalong song Let It Go.

Theatre director Debbie Thompson said: “Frozen is one of the best youth productions we have ever done and we are so proud of it.The set, costumes and technical aspects are all fantastic but more importantly the talent of the
young people is breathtaking! Their singing, dancing and acting is top notch and it is so lovely to see such a large company of all different ages working together and supporting each other. It has been an utter joy and we just won’t want to ‘Let it go!’

Frozen was chosen by the theatre’s youth musical group after last year’s successful staging of Matilda. The show was directed by Nick Earnshaw, choreographed by Sheringham dance school owner Tom Withington, with North Walsham teacher and singer Charlotte Joyce leading the vocal coaching.

Due to popular demand the theatre is holding an extra youth show this year, with the youth drama group performing Alice in Wonderland in July. Please check the theatre website and social media for more details later.
