Westacre Theatre’s much-anticipated Live by the Lake summer season launched in spectacular style with a truly unforgettable afternoon of open-air performance.
The first Summer Picnic performance starred the sensational Bowjangles – theatrical musicians fresh from Glastonbury – who wowed audiences with their quirky mix of classical music, comedy, and choreography. The skies held, the rain stayed away, and the atmosphere was nothing short of magical.

Guests were treated to surprise welcome drinks and an unexpected burst of comedy from the hilarious Tiny Circus during the interval, keeping the crowd smiling from start to finish. Children marvelled as string quartet classics filled the air, while even the four-legged members of the audience enjoyed the picnic vibes (and the occasional dropped sausage roll!). With blankets spread, corks popped and laughter echoing around this stunning location by the lake, it was a joyful reminder of just how special rural theatre can be.

Next up: 10 piece big band ‘Move Your Brass’ – this Friday 11th July 7:30PM . Expect funk, pop, disco and soul with a bold brass twist from this high- energy big band. Warning: spontaneous dancing very likely. Forecast?
