Around 200 people met for a Help Hub Networking Event in King’s Lynn, which aims to help organisations to work together to achieve better outcomes for people who need support.
In a larger venue after the success of last year’s event, representatives from more than 60 public and voluntary sector partners met to learn more about the Help Hub and how its holistic approach succeeds in getting results.
The Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Communities, Cllr Jo Rust, said: “I’m bowled over by the number of people and organisations represented here today.
“It’s testament to the fact that we get the best results when we work together.
“The Help Hub takes a holistic approach to supporting people’s needs and in doing so has achieved some fantastic results for people it has helped.”
The Help Hub works by looking beyond the issues that may have brought a person into contact with an organisation. For example a debt problem may actually be linked to a physical or mental health need, or caring responsibility.
By bringing relevant organisations together to look at the root causes of the problem and tackling these, better results can be achieved for the person who needs support and all the agencies involved – as the results tend to have more lasting effects.
At the Help Hub Networking Event, professionals working in a range of settings were able to meet colleagues from partner organisations, find out more about what they do, and build connections that can give them new avenues to explore for helping people in future.
This is the third time the event has been held; as a result of its success organisers are now considering whether it should become an annual event.
