The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk started its programme of King’s Lynn events for 2024 last weekend with Folk in the Town. There’s seven more weeks of activities to come.
Live music, sport and film screenings, classic vehicles and the chance to sample some sport are all coming to the granite area of the Tuesday Market Place this Summer.
Cllr Bal Anota, Cabinet Member for Events and Open Spaces, explained: “Our free events have been encouraging people into King’s Lynn during the summer for many years. I thank the teams at the council who organise and clean-up after all the activities in the Tuesday Market Place.
“This year people can enjoy watching the Olympics together on the big screen while sampling some of the sporty equipment from Alive West Norfolk. Our events team are also building a basketball court for people to play in during the weekend.
“Popular events like Mods and Rockers, Mini Meet, Classic Car and Soulful Sunday make a welcome return. We’re also introducing a day of free films with our Movie’s in the Market Place, I recommend you get there early to grab a good spot. These activities are aimed at giving residents and visitors another great reason to pop into town to support our local businesses.”
