Profile
Tucked away in West Norfolk, Watatunga Wildlife Reserve is a one-of-a-kind haven for some of the world’s rarest deer, antelope and birds. From endangered Père David’s Deer, critically endangered Eastern Mountain Bongos, Great Bustards, Water Buffalo and other wonderful species. The wonder doesn’t stop there, as visitors can experience the 170 acre reserve of grasslands, woodland and lakes on guided self-drive safari buggy tours.
The safari tours offer a blend of education and adventure, where guests can experience nature as if they were on a safari across the globe. Guided by an expert in a separate electric vehicle, guides use a radio system to tell you about the birds and animals you see on your visit. Animals’ behaviour changes seasonally, so no two visits are the same. Your safari tour guide will bring the reserve to life and tell entertaining stories of our reserve’s rare inhabitants.
Watatunga Wildlife Reserve is dedicated to conservation that genuinely makes a difference, from breeding endangered species to offering hands-on learning for schools, students and future conservationists. Every visit supports vital work to protect species, all while showcasing the wild heart of Norfolk at its very best.
As well as the normal tours, we have specialist photography tours, trailer tours, Mini Wild Things for young children, our BBQ Hut and a range of events happening throughout the year.
