We’ve got four fabulous gardens to explore, and our species-rich, internationally recognised nature reserve is as diverse as it is delightful. Explore wetlands and hedgerows, woodland and riverbanks, and farmland and water meadows, all from our easy-to-follow trails.
At Pensthorpe, you’re guaranteed to get up close with a wide variety of native bird species, but if you prefer your bird-spotting a little more tropical check out our resident flamingos and majestic Eurasian, East African and red-crowned cranes.
Pensthorpe also offers awesome adventures for little nature lovers. From our impressive outdoor eco-friendly play area, WildRootz, to rope bridges, snaking slides, and tree-top towers inside Hootz House.
And there’s lots more to keep young minds buzzing. Ride off-road on the Pensthorpe Explorer, check out fascinating fossils in the Discovery Centre, and set off on our activity-packed trails.
Need to recharge? Our café is the perfect pitstop, with a selection of drinks, snacks, light lunches and freshly prepared hot meals. And our shop is stocked with everything from handcrafted jewellery, homewares and bird feeders to handpicked wildlife books, wellies and children’s toys – not to mention locally produced food and drink.
Ideally located, close to Fakenham and a 45-minute drive from Norwich and King’s Lynn, Pensthorpe makes for an action-packed outing for the whole family. It’s where little adventures happen every day, and we hope you’ll visit us soon.
