My Wildlife Photography Journey

My love of photography began at school when I chose it as one of my exam subjects. Back then, photography was very different from today. I used a film camera, carefully capturing family days out and beautiful scenery before developing my own prints in a darkroom. Watching an image slowly appear on photographic paper was something truly special, and that’s where my passion for photography first began.

Life became busy, and it wasn’t until I turned 50 that my husband bought me my first digital camera. That thoughtful gift reignited my love of photography and introduced me to the wonderful world of wildlife photography.

Since then, I’ve invested in upgrading my cameras and lenses several times, allowing me to capture wildlife in incredible detail. It’s certainly an expensive hobby, but one that brings me endless enjoyment and takes me to some of the UK’s most beautiful locations. I regularly travel to Scotland and Yorkshire in search of species we don’t often see in Norfolk, always looking for that perfect moment to photograph nature at its very best.

I also feel incredibly fortunate to live in Norfolk, where we have an abundance of amazing wildlife right on our doorstep. From the elusive Bittern and colourful Kingfisher to Short-eared, Barn and Little Owls, along with our much-loved Brown Hares, there is always something inspiring to photograph.

Every mounted print and framed photograph I offer has been personally taken by me, often after hours of patience waiting for that perfect light or fleeting wildlife encounter. My hope is that each piece brings the beauty of Britain’s wildlife into your home and allows you to enjoy these wonderful moments for years to come.
