Norfolk Fundraiser to Cycle 500 Miles from Edinburgh Castle to Norwich Castle for Nelson’s Journey

A Norfolk fundraiser is preparing to take on an epic 500-mile cycling challenge this June in support of Nelson’s Journey, the charity that supports bereaved children and young people across Norfolk.

Harry Webb will cycle from Edinburgh Castle to Norwich Castle between the 11th and 13th June, covering 500 miles and almost 20,000 feet of climbing over three demanding days.

The challenge will begin at Edinburgh Castle before taking Harry down the east coast of the UK. On the first day, he will ride 164 miles through Bamburgh, Newcastle and onto Durham.

Day two will see him cover a gruelling 180 miles through Middlesbrough, Whitby, Scarborough and Hull before finishing in Lincoln.

The final day will take him through Long Sutton, King’s Lynn, Hunstanton and along Norfolk’s coastal roads before arriving at his final destination, Norwich Castle.

Harry is undertaking the challenge to raise funds for Nelson’s Journey, which has supported bereaved children and young people in Norfolk since 1997, helping them understand and cope with the death of a significant person in their lives.

Speaking about the challenge, Harry said: “I’ve always wanted to take on a truly challenging fundraiser, and a 500-mile bike ride felt like the perfect opportunity. I couldn’t think of a better charity to support than Nelson’s Journey. The incredible work they do to support local children and young people through some of the most difficult times in their lives is truly inspiring.”

“They take the time to connect with their supporters, and their appreciation for every fundraiser is clear to see. I’m proud to be taking on this challenge to help them continue the fantastic work they do in our community.”

Rosie Bailey, Funding and Marketing Officer at Nelson’s Journey, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Harry for taking on such an ambitious cycle in support of Nelson’s Journey. Cycling 500 miles in just three days is a remarkable achievement, and the funds he raises will help us continue providing vital support to bereaved children and young people across Norfolk. We wish him the best of luck and look forward to cheering him on every mile of the way.”
