This July, Nelson’s Journey is inviting schools, businesses, community groups and
families across Norfolk to get baking as part of its new fundraising campaign, Bake a
Difference.
The campaign encourages supporters to get together and host bake sales, coffee
mornings, and cake-themed events to raise vital funds for bereaved children and
young people supported by the charity. Bereavement affects our mental health and
wellbeing, and by talking with your family, friends and colleagues, you can help open
these, often difficult, but important conversations.
Participants can take part however they choose – whether that’s by organising a
bake sale, hosting a coffee morning, or a bake-off. The campaign aims to bring
people together while raising awareness of childhood bereavement and the
importance of support.
Karen from Jarrold Training, who has recently hosted a bake sale in aid of Nelson’s
Journey, said: “Our fabulous cake and bake sales are always welcomed by our delegates and neighbouring businesses. It’s always a treat to indulge in the creations of our talented bakers, whilst raising much-needed funds for Nelson’s Journey and sharing ots of great conversations too.”
Rosie Bailey, Funding and Marketing Officer from Nelson’s Journey, added:
“The campaign is such a lovely way to bring people together whilst supporting
Nelson’s Journey. It’s been great to see everyone getting involved already, having
fun and raising money that will make a real difference to bereaved children and
young people across Norfolk.”
Funds raised through Bake a Difference will help Nelson’s Journey continue
delivering services, including one-to-one support, therapeutic activities and activity
weekends for children and young people across Norfolk.
