Nearly 700 runners laced up for the much-anticipated EAMA 10K in Wymondham on Sunday 16 November.
Organised by South Norfolk Council and sponsored by East Anglian Motor Auctions (EAMA), the 10-kilometre road race took participants on a scenic single-lap route through the picturesque countryside near Morley, starting and finishing on Lady’s Lane.
Vice Chairwoman of South Norfolk Council, Cllr Kathryn Cross, attended the event, she said: “What a fantastic day it was! The EAMA 10K really showed the strength of our community, with incredible support along the route and so many smiling faces. Congratulations to everyone who took part and a special thanks to all our volunteer marshals who helped make the day such a success.”

Men’s Champion Sam Peck from City of Norwich AC stormed to victory with an impressive time of 00:33:57.2, while Women’s Champion Jo Andrews of Bungay Black Dog RC crossed the finish line in 00:37:30.9. The Corporate Challenge title went to AVIVA MORC, showcasing fantastic team spirit and determination.
Each year, the race helps fund vital local services and raises money for the Chair’s chosen charity. This year, Chairwoman Deborah Sacks is fundraising for The Ted Ellis Trust.
Cllr Cross added: “If the race has inspired you, now’s the perfect time to start training for next year! Details on how to sign up will be available on our website in the new year, giving you plenty of time to improve your fitness and get ready for another fantastic day.”
