Profile
“ Described as a “Formidable presence in the world of Choral music”, the Phoenix Consort is pleased to announce its next choral concert, taking place at St. Peter Mancroft, Norwich on May 30th (17:30).
The concert, ‘Missa’, is a celebration of the golden age of Renaissance choral music in Europe, particularly that of England and Spain. The concert, which takes its name from the root of the English word “mass”, will showcase the sacred works of renowned composers from William Byrd and Thomas Tallis, to European giants such as Victoria and Morales, whose work will center the program. We’ll sing renowned Renaissance classics such as “If ye love me” and “Versa est in Luctum” and also rediscover some lesser known choral gems, buried in time.”
