Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s Sea Splash is back for another year – and this time, we’re making even bigger waves for local mental health services.
On 1st February, we’re taking Sea Splash to the beach of Cromer. This short dip challenge will help to raise vital funds for mental health services supporting people across Norfolk and Waveney.
Cold water dips don’t just raise funds, they raise spirits. A quick splash in the sea can boost your mood, improve your wellbeing, and leave you with a huge sense of achievement
There’s also the chance for fundraisers to get their hands on some amazing rewards, including a spa and swim session for 2 at Energise Pentney.
Among those who took part last year were Jennie and Mark from Bradwell, who raised £1,186 in memory of their son Steven, who took his own life.When asked why they chose to fundraise for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, they said:“We lost our son Steven to suicide in 2014. He was just 23 years old and had been let down by the system repeatedly. We want to help raise funds to make sure nobody else feels so desperate that they feel suicide is the only answer. We don’t want any other person to feel that suicide is the only option, and we don’t want any other family to carry the pain and guilt around with them for the rest of their lives. The money raised will help support people and help in the fight for better mental health.”

Time: Register at 10am ready to dip at 11am
Locations: Cromer beach
Entry: £10 to sign up early, or £15 to sign up on the day. If you’re taking part as a group, you can get a five-person ticket for £40
The event is open to anyone aged 16 and over. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
To make the splash count even more, we have some amazing prizes up for grabs for our fundraisers:
• Raise £75 or more: Receive an exclusive Norfolk and Waveney Mind branded beanie.
• Raise £150 or more: Receive a Norfolk and Waveney Mind sports t-shirt.
• Raise £300 or more: You’ll be entered into a draw to win a 3-hour swim and spa voucher for 2 at Energise Pentney, to relax and celebrate your fundraising efforts.
