Join us for a rejuvenating forest bathing experience at Mousehold Heath on Monday 12th August. Immerse yourself in the beautiful natural surroundings and let go of the stresses of everyday life as you engage all of your senses in the tranquility of the forest.
Forest Bathing is an evidence-based, therapeutic practice that connects people to the natural world through gentle, sensory-based activities. It originated in Japan where it is known as Shinrin Yoku which roughly translates as taking in the forest with all your senses.
The practice involves walking slowly, breathing deeply, and using your senses to connect with the natural world. Forest Bathing has a wide range of benefits, it has been shown in studies to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system, and improve mental health.
This event is suitable for children over 16 years old, and for all fitness levels. Unlike a lot of other outdoor activities, Forest bathing is well-suited for those who are less active and may not normally take long walks outdoors. It’s gentle, inclusive, pleasurable and welcoming.
Forest Bathing walks move at a slow pace so please make sure to wrap up nice and warm. We recommend you come prepared for the weather, please bring a sun hat and/or sunglasses, along with sun lotion if it is a hot day. Please come prepared with waterproofs if it’s a wet day as well as wearing appropriate footwear for the weather.
Don’t miss this opportunity to slow down and connect with nature. Book your spot now and join us for a peaceful evening in the beautiful Mousehold Heath.
