Kickstart your career or explore exciting apprenticeship opportunities in West Norfolk at an event to be held in King’s Lynn next month.
Join us on 10 February, for a vibrant Careers and Apprenticeship Event at the Alive Corn Exchange, King’s Lynn. Delivered in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the event is part of National Apprenticeship Week (9–15 February)—making it the perfect moment to discover the wide range of apprenticeships and career pathways available locally.
Whether you’re a school leaver, returning to work, considering a career change, or simply exploring your options, this event is a great chance to learn more about opportunities available at the council. You’ll also be able to meet more than 45 local employers, all ready to talk about apprenticeships, training routes, and potential career paths to help you take your next step with confidence.
This free drop‑in event takes place at the King’s Lynn Corn Exchange on Tuesday, 10 February, 10am–12pm. No booking required—just pop in to meet with dedicated training teams.
We will have current apprentices at all levels attending to share their experiences and explain how on‑the‑job learning has supported their development and career progression with the council.
Kate Blakemore, Chief Executive of the borough council, said: “We are all about supporting career development here at the council, and apprenticeships are one of the many ways we can help our staff to grow professionally.
“Many of our staff have benefited from apprenticeships, enhancing their skills, progressing in their careers, and staying motivated in their roles. Investing in our employees’ career progression not only benefits the individuals but also strengthens the council’s overall effectiveness and sustainability.
“Our staff are our biggest asset, and I value the contribution they make to our organisation. This is a great place to work, and we are always looking to grow our passionate team.”
Members of DWP’s Employer Adviser team, Sam, Hayley & Inesa, added: “We’re delighted to be working with the council to host this event at the Corn Exchange. The larger venue means we can welcome even more visitors and organisations. Our focus is on showcasing the fantastic opportunities available across West Norfolk and helping people take their next step into work or training.”
Don’t miss this chance to explore your future and find the pathway that’s right for you. We look forward to welcoming you and supporting your career aspirations.
