Profile
On 12 August 1915 the 1/5th Battalion Norfolks advanced on Kuchuk Anafarta Ova on the Suvla Plain at Gallipoli. They never returned. An official report stated they had been ‘lost to sight and sound’. Now, historian Steve Smith’s brand-new book, The Norfolks at Gallipoli 12 August 1915: Truth and Myth, provides a definitive account of what became of the men reported missing on that fateful day.
Lynn Museum is partnering with Steve Smith to launch this exciting new publication. Meet the author, hear about the battlefield research that formed the basis of the book, and get your copy signed.
Copies of the book will be available to purchase from the museum shop during the event.
Admission to the event is free, but booking is recommended. Booking is available here: https://www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk/article/73677/Book-Launch–Signing—The-Norfolks-at-Gallipoli-1915
