Donation to Sheringham Lifeboat Station from New Year’s Day Dip

Sheringham & Cromer Roundtable donated 50% of their New Year’s Day Dip profits on Sunday to Sheringham Lifeboat Station. The station provides an invaluable service to the local community, and donations such are these contribute towards the running costs of the station.

Pictured here are some of the Sheringham Lifeboat Station crew, including along with Sheringham & Cromer Roundtable Chairman Will Moy, who presented the cheque to the Station.

The Dip itself had over 400 dippers, with over 1000 in attendance watching the brave souls enter the water. Profits were generated from generous donations made by those in attendance on the day. The remaining 50% profits will be sent out to other local causes in the coming weeks. Any group wishing to ask the Roundtable for support should contact their Facebook page.

Roundtable Vice-Chairman Richard Myhill said, “Supporting local causes through donations is one of the reasons many of us joined Roundtable. It’s been fantastic to be able to do that through the New Year’s Day Dip, which also brought the community together by bringing back an event that was previously a regular in the North Norfolk calendar.”
