Cromer Pier Show Returns to Fly the Flag for British Variety

The award winning Cromer Pier Show is back for its 2025 season, bringing with it a spectacular celebration of British live variety that continues to defy the odds and delight audiences across the generations.

Proudly produced by Openwide Coastal, the Cromer Pier Show now in its 48th year remains the only full season end of the pier show in the world, a title it wears with pride, tradition and a very British sense of humour!

This year’s run opens on Saturday 28 June and runs through to Saturday 20 September, with matinee and evening performances in the iconic Pavilion Theatre, perched at the end of Cromer’s historic Grade II listed pier.

Headlining the show in 2025 is Ben Nickless, Britain’s Got Talent finalist and one of the UK’s most inventive comedy talents. With a 25-year career that includes the London Palladium, the Hammersmith Apollo and collaborations with Jason Manford and Cannon and Ball, Ben returns to Cromer with his trademark hurricane of comedy, impressions and laugh out loud physicality.

Joining him are powerhouse vocalists Kristel Herrera and Joshua Mumby, both back by popular demand following a triumphant 2024 season. Their soaring vocals, chemistry on stage and emotional depth promise to lift the rafters once again.

The internationally acclaimed magician Mike Stuart joins the Cromer cast this year as the speciality act. He’ll create unforgettable moments through masterful illusions and magnetic charm. Prepare to be amazed by a timeless class act.

A talented troupe of dancers adds energy and elegance to the production, elevating every scene with dynamic choreography and West End polish.

And as always, a revolving cast of guest speciality acts brings even more variety and star quality to the bill:

  • Paul Zenon (28 June – 19 July) multi award-winning TV trickster and original UK ‘street magic’ pioneer
  • Tommy J (22 July – 9 August) Norfolk’s own juggling dynamo and fast-rising star of British variety
  • Steve Hewlett (12 – 30 August) Cromer favourite and Britain’s Got Talent finalist, bringing comedy ventriloquism to life
  • David Arnold (2 – 20 September) loveable Welshman and one of the UK’s brightest comedy talents

Each year, the Cromer Pier Show raises the bar, blending the warmth of British seaside tradition with the kind of production values you’d expect in the West End. Think bespoke, hand-crafted costumes, immersive lighting design, theatrical seaside humour, and a jaw dropping 8 metre video wall that brings a cutting edge twist to this timeless variety spectacle.

This isn’t just a performance, it’s a piece of living British heritage. In an era where theatres face increasing pressure, the Cromer Pier Show stands proudly independent, rooted in tradition but never standing still. Alongside the landmark summer show, the venue also hosts a growing winter programme, with the Cromer Christmas Show now a major fixture in the festive calendar.

Openwide Coastal CEO Rory Holburn said: “The Cromer Pier Show is a living, breathing part of British entertainment heritage. Every year we celebrate new talent while honouring the tradition of variety that’s kept this stage alive for nearly five decades. It’s bold, it’s brilliant and it’s beautifully British.”
