2024 has been a year of remarkable change for the business. When Daniel was jokingly referred to as a “Dinosaur” in IT, he decided it was time for a transformation. Determined to turn Easy Clean Norfolk into a paperless organisation and embrace digitalisation, he set out on a mission to modernise the entire operation.
This vision led to the appointment of a new Head of IT and Operations, Mike Hogarth. With Daniel, Katy and Mike now aligned on the same goals, Easy Clean Norfolk is on track to becoming fully paperless by mid-2025. A key milestone in 2024 was replacing traditional whiteboards with wall-mounted digital monitors throughout the office. This new technology has not only streamlined operations but also paved the way for expansion, allowing us to serve the whole of Norfolk and strengthen relationships with both new and long-standing clients.
Our commitment to innovation has also positioned Easy Clean Norfolk as a leading cleaning provider for a national company, covering the entire county.
Daniel and Katy recently shared insights with a fellow business owner about the challenges of digitalising a company. They likened the journey to that of an Olympic Cyclist: “The cyclist knows the goal is the podium, but it’s the pedals of the bicycle that will get them there.” This analogy has been a guiding principle for Daniel, Katy, and Mike as they work towards achieving their ultimate vision.
Looking ahead to 2025, we’re proud to be entering our 10th year in business. Daniel and Katy are excited to announce the opening of a second office in Horning, which will support our field teams. Additionally, plans are underway to establish another depot in South Norfolk, further supporting our ongoing expansion.
Of course, we expect 2025 to bring its usual challenges, along with a few surprises—but we’re ready to embrace them all. With our new digital systems in place, tackling them will be a whole lot easier!
That said, Katy faces one personal challenge that technology hasn’t solved: getting Daniel to switch off from work. Now that he can access the entire business from his mobile phone, it looks like her task has only become harder!
