Cromer’s Folk on the Pier festival, which takes place on the second weekend of May each year, is enjoying record sales at the Pavilion Theatre since its first outing twenty-eight years ago.
Offering another wide range of acts and styles over the three-day event, the audience will be attending six concerts and highlights include the likes of Spiers and Boden, founder members of Bellowhead, making a first appearance at the festival

There is also a welcome return of folk dance fusionists the Demon Barbers, who are celebrating twenty-five years of entertaining the folk world.
Fans of the music that originated from Laurel Canyon are in for a treat when top players in the English folk-rock world will be offering their take on such legendary musicians such as The Band, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Concerts also feature solo performances from the likes of Show of Hands legend Phil Beer as well as Chris Leslie, longstanding multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Fairport Convention. There is also a rare chance to see visiting musicians from abroad by way of singer and story-teller Dan McKinnon from Canada, and Northern Resonance, a string trio from Sweden.
Sunday afternoon will see a special performance of festival favourite Gerry Colvin when he will be accompanied by a folk orchestra, Prior to that the concert will also welcome songs and tales from BBC Radio’s Mark Radcliffe with David Boardman for the first time.

The event wraps up on Sunday night when folk-rock supergroup Feast of Fiddles make a welcome return visit to the Pavilion Theatre. The band showcases eight outstanding fiddle players, supported by a strong rock rhythm section, performing a diverse selection of music ranging from Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” and the theme from “Pirates of the Caribbean”, to traditional folk tunes such as “The Lark in the Morning” and “The Princess Royal”
As always alongside the main concerts there are a great many fringe performances
around Cromer planned for the weekend.
