On Tuesday 28 October, residents of Old Catton gathered at the Recreation Ground for a day of gentle activity and community support at Broadland District Council’s “Move More” event.
The event, organised by the Council’s Help Hub team ran from 10 am to 4:30 pm and provided a welcoming space for residents to drop by, chat and explore simple ways to feel better through movement, while raising awareness of the Council’s services.
Cllr Natasha Harpley, Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing for Broadland District Council, said: “This was a lovely opportunity to raise awareness of the practical help and support on offer, while encouraging healthier, more active lifestyles.”
The Council’s Broadly Active team were on hand to encourage attendees to try the outdoor fitness equipment, focussing on simple, accessible ways to move more.
Throughout the day, the Help Hub team offered advice and support on a wide range of issues, from finance and housing to employment and training, helping residents connect with services and resources in their community.
This event is part of a broader initiative to promote wellbeing and community engagement across Broadland. Residents can find out more by searching for “Community Engagement Van Broadland”.
