Profile
Cromer’s ‘Folk on the Pier’ festival patron Richard Digance will be returning to Sheringham Little Theatre, a venue that has become one of his favourites over the past few years.
With a career spanning nearly sixty years, there isn’t much that Richard Digance hasn’t achieved internationally, yet still he loves to come to North Norfolk. Over the years he been nominated for a BAFTA and received a Gold Award from the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters and appeared on numerous episodes of ‘Countdown’. He has written twenty four books and composed audiobook music and songs for none other than Bill Bryson. He has also recorded many of his own albums over the years plus incidental music for TV programmes.
He has worked in America with Steve Martin and recalls two of his greatest moments as playing the London Palladium with Robin Williams and a guitar duet on TV with Queen guitarist Brian May. However, there is nothing he enjoys more than performing a live show in an intimate theatre. With this in mind he is delighted to be returning to North Norfolk this September to Sheringham Little Theatre.
As many of his fans say, ‘if Richard didn’t have songs and stories to tell then it would be a sadder world indeed!’
