There will be a treat in store for G&S fans on Saturday 21 September when ‘The Wandering Minstrels’ ( www.wanderingminstrels.org.uk ) present “The World of Gilbert and Sullivan” in St. Michael and All Angels Church, Aylsham. They will sing, act and dance their way through many of the immortal Savoy Operas including “The Yeomen of the Guard”, “The Pirates of Penzance”, “HMS Pinafore”, “The Mikado”, “Princess Ida”, “Iolanthe”, “The Gondoliers” and “Ruddigore”. Artistes appearing in this Gala concert are Helen Winter, Emma Stratton, Charles Mills, Bruce Graham and Tim Hurst-Brown, with Peter Hewitt at the piano.
‘The Wandering Minstrels’ have been delighting audiences for many years and have helped to raise almost half a million pounds for various charitable causes as a result of their popular Gilbert and Sullivan concerts. Their light-hearted evenings of songs and scenes from The Savoy Operas, beautifully sung and delightfully staged, are events to remember. This talented company has built up an enviable reputation as a leading G&S ensemble and they are much in demand.
The Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk, Mr. Michael Gurney, will be present at the concert with his wife. The event begins at 7.30pm.
