Brimming full of fabulous fun, frolics, and spectacular scrapes, this particularly playful production is stupendously silly but completely charming.

A perfectly enjoyable evening for the whole family, Daisy Pulls It Off affectionately parodies those virtuous adventures about life in girls' private boarding schools of the 1920s. Westacre Theatre takes a tongue in cheek look at how Daisy Meredith is the first and only scholarship student from an elementary school to enter the hallowed halls of the awfully posh Grangewood School for Young Ladies.

In a desperate attempt to have Daisy expelled, the frightfully snobbish students conceive deplorable deeds designed to discredit Daisy's reputation at the School which has its own very real problems. But brilliantly academic Daisy confronts this arrogant cattiness by sticking with her one firm friend, being a star on the hockey pitch, and successfully locating some lost treasure - basically Daisy single-handedly saves the day.

Without a dull moment in sight, Daisy Pulls It Off guarantees a truly terrific time - and that is the very best thing about it. Lashings of good old fashioned fun means it's meant to be delightfully high jinks. Ghastly gags and hilariously dated dialogue are the gift wrapping for any deeper meaning by 1950s working class playwright Denise Deegan.

After failing her 11+ and leaving education at 15, Denise wrote plays while working in stage management until the success of Daisy Pulls It Off enabled her to write full-time. When originally performed in the 1980s, the West End run was produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and won Olivier and Drama Theatre Awards for Best Comedy. Maybe this rip-roaring satire will revive the juvenile in you!

Rest assured that you can look forward to a climax of staggering surprises which ties-up all the loose ends superbly; you will not be disappointed. The seven shows at Westacre Theatre open on Thursday July 18th and can be booked through www.westacretheatre.com or 01760 755800.
