Great Yarmouth Borough Council is already starting to plan the Wheels Festival for 2021 after the 2020 event was unavoidably cancelled due to coronavirus and strict social distancing measures.
The action-packed weekend of cars and motorbikes is scheduled to be on July 10 and 11 2021, with the aim of being bigger and better than ever, following the success of the 2019 event. The council has begun to contact the attractions that were due to exhibit this year to offer them an opportunity to book for 2021.
The festival takes place along Great Yarmouth seafront, starting at Britannia Pier going right down to Wellington Pier. Featuring prestige, classic and bespoke vehicles of all sorts, including motorbikes, cars, trucks and anything else with wheels, the weekend also has special activities and entertainment for families and petrolheads alike.
As well as thousands of visitors and vendors in attendance, hundreds upon hundreds of visiting motorcyclists will make an appearance on the Saturday, riding along the seafront and parking up to enjoy the event themselves.
Cllr Graham Plant, chairman of the economic development committee said "The council is excited to make next year's Wheels Festival the biggest and best it has ever been, so we're pleased to get the show on the road by announcing the date for people's diaries and taking early bookings of exhibitors.
"Whilst it was obviously disheartening having to cancel the event this year, the health of the public and exhibitors was our top priority. Keeping everyone safe whilst having a good time is an important part of a positive visitor experience. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021."
