Promising to be bigger and better than ever before, thousands of visitors are expected to flock to the Visit Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival over the weekend of 2 and 3 July to explore the incredible line-up of exhibitors and traders. Make sure you add the date to your diaries because you won't want to miss it!

The weekend is set to show off all sorts of amazing classic and contemporary vehicles, including bikes, cars, trucks, scooters - and anything else wheels related.

Families and petrol heads of all ages are invited to join in the celebration of everything wheels on Saturday from 10am until the evening ends with fireworks at 10pm and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Marine Parade will be closed from 7am to 11pm on Saturday and 7am to approximately 7pm on Sunday.

The main sponsor of this popular event is Visit Great Yarmouth, which aims to bring together the local tourism and business community to promote the borough and encourage residents and visitors to enjoy all that Great Yarmouth has to offer.

As well as viewing the hundreds of vehicles on display, visitors will have the chance to enjoy interactive experiences such as climbing aboard an American Big Rig truck at Clive Shaw Trucking, viewing historic fire engines and watching dare devil riders ride just inches from the top of the Wall of Death!

On the Saturday evening, there will be a 'Platinum Mile Parade' featuring selected vehicles from the festival and led by some special guests and the National Street Rod Association. At 10pm Pleasure Beach will provide an explosive display of fireworks which will complete the first day of the event, sponsored by Visit Great Yarmouth.

The festival, which takes place along Great Yarmouth seafront from Britannia Pier to the Pleasure Beach, offers completely free admission for pedestrians. This year, bikers and cars planning to park within the festival site are asked to pay £5 per vehicle for one day, or £8.50 for the entire weekend when pre-booking, which will go towards the running of the festival.

Cllr Daniel Candon, chairman of the economic development committee said: "This weekend is set to be jam packed full of exciting things for people of all ages and interests to see, do and experience at our Wheels Festival as it returns to Great Yarmouth seafront.

"As always, we're grateful to our sponsors, Visit Great Yarmouth as our main sponsor, Joyland, Family Amusements with Britannia and Wellington Piers, Pertwee and Back and Peter Doidge in supporting this event and helping it grow to the successful weekend we all are looking forward to."

Lyndon Bevan, Chairman of Visit Great Yarmouth said: "The Wheels Festival is always an anticipated event on our calendar and this year looks to be bigger and better than ever.

"We are, as always, expecting thousands of visitors to Great Yarmouth, which will once again provide a great benefit to our business community.

"It's another example of how our borough can provide a brilliant free family day out with some fantastic spectacles and performances."
