Dereham Windmill
Dereham Windmill was built in 1835 and is a five-storey brick tower mill with a boat shaped cap winded by a six bladed fantail. Rescued from dereliction in the 1980s, the mill was recently restored in 2003 as an exhibition centre. There are art exhibitions held every month by local schools, organisations and artists.
Dereham Windmill is open every Friday and Saturday ( March to December ) from 10am till 3pm. Admission is £2.50 per adult and concessions £2.
Dereham Windmill is run by a fab team of volunteers. We hold regular fundraising events including Craft Fairs, Teddy Bear Zip Wire and Santa visits to help raise money for ongoing restoration work.
The Grounds
Dogs are not allowed in the tearoom. Full disabled facilities are available within the tearoom and grounds, including a specially adapted picnic bench.
Access
Our Windmill Guides may also escort visitors on a guided tour of the whole building. On the first floor you can meet the ghost of Miller Fendick who might tell you about his life as a miller. Also, on every floor, there are illustrated explanations of what happened in each area when the mill was full of noise and flour dust.

Reel Tackle Treasures is an online fishing retailer based out of Norfolk, they mainly sell on their website but also attend local carboots and markets.
The company was founded by Will after he was fed up with too much fishing tackle going to waste, and the sheer price of new tackle. Reel Tackle Treasures mainly focuses on used tackle but also sells new tackle alongside and aims to help both old and new anglers upgrade their fishing gear.
Their website has all their products on and is easy to navigate, there is also a section for blogs which are full of useful information for both new and old anglers and new blogs are being published constantly.
If you have any spare tackle lying around but don't know where to sell it? Reel Tackle Treasures will give you a fair price and collects nationwide so no need to travel!

Good Running Events
Good Running Events host events across East Anglia and beyond, with distances from 1 mile fun runs, 5K, 10K, Half Marathons, all the way up to our 24 hour endurance race. We look to provide both traditional road races and multi-terrain scenic races to provide some thing for every type of runner, whether you are a beginner looking for something fun or an experienced runner looking for a fast course and a new PB.
Our 2023 events are as follows:
18th June Run Sandringham Half Marathon, 5km and Community Mile. Our season starts at the Iconic Sandringham Estate, Winter Residence of the Royal Family, where runners are able to enjoy a race through the beautiful walled gardens as well as the wider estate and parkland.
We return to Sandringham Estate on the 19th-20th August for the Run Sandringham 24 hour Race, with runners aiming to run as many 5 mile laps of the estate as they can in 24 hours, including many night laps by headtorch. This event is one of the highlights of our calendar for many as they bring their families to the estate for a weekend of camping, live music and running.
We finish our Run Sandringham series with Run Sandringham 10K on 24th September which once again gives runners a chance to set a PB through the Gardens, Parkland and closed roads in the wider estate.
Run Snetterton 5k and 10k on 2nd August gives runners the chance to run at the famous Snetterton racetrack. This fast race circuit provides runners a unique opportunity to get a PB on this closed racetrack, with a grandstand finish in the pit lane. Runners have the option of running a single lap 5K or two lap 10K distance, finishing as the sun sets over this iconic circuit.
The Great Eastern Run on 15th October in Peterborough gives runners the chance to experience a City Centre half marathon. Runners feel the buzz of a big crowd as they weave their way through the streets of Peterborough past many of the city’s landmarks in this marque event. Joined by athletes from countries around the world, pacers will help runners strive for a PB on this fast course. A fully equipped event village makes this a great event for the family.
The Duxford Dash 5k and 10k on 22nd October marks the completion of our events for the season with us returning to the track (or runway) to run along the famous Duxford airfield, lined with historic planes and landing vehicles this event truly is a one of a kind.
All our races have their own unique medal upon completion, along with other merchandise options to remember your day by.

Coffeesmiths
Coffeesmiths was founded in 2021 by a coffee crazed guy called Arron, that’s me! Having worked in the coffee world since I left University, I have now begun my own coffee-based adventure with Coffeesmiths.
Starting off in a converted Rice Horse Box, I was travelling Norfolk and beyond on the weekends serving my locally roasted coffee. I thought to myself that I could do this full-time, so here we are! Now we have a permanent unit on Market Place in North Walsham along with the trailer which is still in operation at events over East Anglia.
Coffee has always been the priority. That is why we use only small and local business to source our beans. Using the Broadland Blend from JavaBean who are based in Scottow – we can create incredibly tasty artisan coffee that is unrivalled in freshness. Sometimes only a matter of days pass between the coffee beans being roasted and then served in our Shop and Trailer.
We do not just get our coffee beans from nearby, but our cakes and pastry offering are also both sourced from within 10 miles of Norwich. Again, this guarantees freshness and quality along with a excellent range of Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options. We change our menu every couple of weeks, however some favourites are Sea Salt Brownies and Vegan Sticky Caramel Buns.
Our choices don’t stop there. If you like to mix up your coffee and explore into different flavours, then we have you covered! With over 12 syrups to choose from at any one time you can always create your perfect coffee. Allergens are also covered, with Lacto-Free, Almond, Soya, Coconut, Oat and Skimmed milk all available every day.
Our shop in North Walsham is right in the centre of Market Place, with a beautifully hand-made breakfast bar in the window, which is perfect to perch and enjoy a Flat White and watch the world go by. We will be offering some external seating in the summer months too. Perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast but also if you need to pass an hour by sitting in. There are power sockets and Wi-Fi for those that might be working too.
There is cheap parking within 3 minutes’ walk, free disabled parking on the Market Place so we are nice and accessible. We are very excited for the Summer approaching and beyond, as we settle in North Walsham and perhaps some other towns in Norfolk soon….!
