Homes for Wells

A Wells Primary School dinner lady, a young woman who works to support youngsters with learning difficulties and a local crab dresser will be among the first Homes for Wells tenants for the newly converted Old School.

This represents an astounding achievement for a group of volunteers who got together in 2006 to form Homes for Wells to help provide affordable accommodation for local people. This followed a survey which showed that as a result of the town’s popularity over 20% of houses have become second homes or holiday lets, which has pushed house prices and rents beyond the reach of many indigenous folk.
