The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor Brenda Arthur is officially launching the Maids Head Hotel's new outdoor seating area, overlooking Tombland, on Friday 15 April at a morning coffee event starting at 10.30am.
The Maids Head is donating 20% of all coffee and tea sales on the day in the hotel lounges and outdoor seating area to Sistema in Norwich, the Lord Mayor's Civic Charity 2015/16.

The Lake Cabin, an award-winning project in the Czech Republic, designed by Feilden+Mawson’s Norwich and Prague based partner Pavel Nasadil, is a finalist in the prestigious Architects Journal Small Projects Awards 2016.
Inspired by The Broads Wildlife Centre at Ranworth Broad, which was also designedby Feilden+Mawson, the Lake Cabin won the award for “Best Czech Building” 2015, competing against 87 other entries. It is one of the smallest buildings to win in the award’s 20-year history.
VoiceHost today announced that it ranked 21st in the UK and 1st in the Cambridgeshire and East region within the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 awards, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over the last four years and VoiceHost grew 818% per cent during this period.
Barry Phillips and his wife Margaret, from St Ives in Cambridgeshire, have been visiting Great Yarmouth for holidays and day trips for 40 years. Barry, who was in the market for a new car, browsed round Great Yarmouth showrooms during his last holiday in September and was so impressed with the customer service at Thurlow Nunn, that he drove home in a new Astra. Tourism businesses like Vauxhall Holiday Park and Cherry Tree Holiday Park also support the local economy with vehicle leasing and servicing.
The couple behind The Gluten Free Shop at Hellesdon near Norwich, are delighted that they have been given the go ahead to open a completely gluten free café and shop on Timber Hill this winter.
Overwhelmed with support from customers, the press, and local businesses, Louisa Kiddell and partner Tony Garrick are underway with their plans to renovate the listed building, and hopefully will be completed in time for a Christmas opening. “We’re still developing the menu” says Louisa, “but we are very excited that we will be able to offer something for everyone; if you have *Coeliac Disease or are following a gluten or wheat free diet you will be able to choose freely from the light lunches, snacks, breakfasts and treats available, and there will plenty of options if you are dairy free or vegan too”. “We also want to show people that gluten free food can be as delicious and appetising as regular wheat, rye and barley-based foods, and in most cases you cannot tell the difference”.
Representatives from the Quarantine Inspection Agency of the Republic of Korea (QIA) have visited a north Norfolk business to learn more about food safety processes in the UK.
Catherine and Stephen Temple, proprietors of Mrs Temples Cheese and Copys Green Farm in Wighton, hosted the visit which was organised by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
