South Norfolk Council has teamed up with Bressingham Steam and Gardens to give away a family annual pass to this popular tourist attraction.

The competition is part of the Council’s drive to promote tourism in the area. South Norfolk Council’s Deputy Leader Michael Edney said: “South Norfolk has so much to offer whether you’re here on holiday, just visiting for the day, or a local looking for something a little different."

Bressingham Steam goes back to 1940's

Bressingham Steam & Gardens near Diss, home of the national Dad’s Army Collection, invites you to step back in time and enjoy the sights and sounds of the 1940s on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 10.30am to 5pm. There is also a special 1940s dance, with Ipswich based Swing Machine Big Band, on the Saturday evening from 7.30pm.

Timescape, featuring John and Christine Drury, will be performing songs from the era throughout the weekend and there will be jiving and lindy hop dancing with Texas Tommy and The Jitterbug Dancers (Saturday) and Jive Bunnies (Sunday).

Bressingham Steam Manager Goes Steampunk

Bressingham Steam is staging Norfolk’s first full Steampunk Weekend on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April and Alastair Baker, Bressingham's manager has fully entered into the Steampunk spirit, growing and waxing his beard, shaving his head and purchasing a bowler hat to go with his all black look.

Alastair Baker said: "We are really looking forward to our Steampunk transformation at the weekend. It's going to be great fun. We hope that Bressingham will become the key Norfolk venue on the Steampunk circuit."
